Inspections & Requirements: Roof Mount Solar
1st Inspections: (This is a one-time inspection)
- Ground electrode
- Rough electrical
- Grounding and bonding
- Service panel
- Framing
- Final (Partial inspections or corrections will result in additional fees)
Items to be on site at time of inspection and other items:
- Job card.
- Approved plans.
- All rough electrical is to be exposed.
- Smoke detector certification form signed by contractor.
- Solar layout and all other placards.
- Photo of solar panel identification tag. (photos from phone are not acceptable unless the field inspector verifies, they were taken at the time of inspection)
- Ladder set up and secured to building with 3 steps above the roof.
Inspections & Requirements: Ground Mount Solar
1st inspection:
- Set-backs footings and forms
- Steel and hardware
- Conduit
2nd inspection: (Final must pass at this inspection to avoid additional fees & partial inspections or corrections will result in additional fees)
- Final (protective barrier required to protect underside, solar Scrim or barrier)
- Ground electrode
- Rough electric (all electrical is to be exposed)
- Grounding and bonding
- Service panel
- Framing
Items needed at Final:
- Job card
- Smoke detector certification
- Solar layout placard at main panel and all other placards
- Approved plans
Inspections & Requirements: Panel Upgrade/ Roof mount Solar/ Combo / Disconnect - Reconnect
Inspections: Sometimes this gets split up into 2 inspections and 2 releases (Combo permit only)
If broken up into 2 inspections -
1st inspection will be: Service Panel (You will be required to have your panel 100% complete and all electrical exposed, schedule as follows):
2nd inspection:
- Ground electrode
- Rough electrical
- Grounding and bonding
- Service panel, (this may be scheduled prior to final of permit to release power, upgrade and/or derate breaker must be ready)
- Framing Final
- (Disconnect-Reconnect, this is a one-time final inspection, panel must be 100% complete to avoid additional fees)
